🏒 About the Program

Led by experienced instructor Ryan Thompson, this Hockey Canada Certified program is designed to teach players the critical fundamentals of body contact in a safe, controlled, and supportive environment.

Transitioning to contact play is a major milestone in a player’s development. This four-week clinic focuses heavily on player safety, ice awareness, and the technical mechanics of the physical game. Participants will receive hands-on instruction covering:

• Safe Contact: How to properly brace for impact, protect the puck, and safely absorb checks along the boards or in open ice.

• Effective Checking: The correct mechanics for delivering clean, safe, and effective body checks.

• Positioning: Defensive angling and steering opponents out of dangerous areas.

• Awareness: Keeping the head up, reading the play, and understanding the rules of physical play.
