2009 RELM Recap - Sunshine Cup Day 3
The '09s continue their playoff push with more round robin action from the Sunshine Cup!
The 2009 boys would faceoff with DA Hockey last night and oh boy, what a battle it was. The boys would control play throughout the game but struggled to score on the DA goaltender. A couple of bad bounces would see the squad down 2-0 at the end of the first. The scoreboard would not discourage the boys as they kept battling hard and getting chances but still could not squeak one in. A giveaway on the powerplay lead to another goal for DA Hockey putting them down 3-0 to end the second. However, after many powerplay attempts, it would be on the penalty kill that would get the lads on the board cutting the lead down to 2. With the goalie pulled late in the third, the team found themselves stuck in their own end surrendering an empty net goal to end the game with a 4-2 loss.
The boys look to keep their momentum going and flip the script on the scoreboard as they take on the Quebec Griffins at 12:15 pm in their final round robin game then set their sights on playoffs later today.
