2007 RELM Recap - Sunshine Cup Day 3
The 2007 RELM team took on a double header yesterday and had all the fireworks going!

Game 1 for the 2007 boys would be at 5pm when they would take on the Atlantic Prospects team. The game would be a psychical back and forth effort between the two squads with a stellar game coming from goaltender Alex Beaupre just undermined from a few bad bounces and mutli-chance game. Beaupre would stand on his head throughout the game facing an onslaught of shots, but to keep it interesting Alex pulled out an outstanding sliding two-pad stack save to hype the boys up. The boys would keep it close at 4-2 for most of the game but falling 7-2 to the Prospects by the final buzzer.

The boys looking to build off of the performance by Beaupre would give him one of their own when they took on the Jake Allen Prospects in game 2 of the night at 8:15pm. However, the boys would have a slow start going down 2-0 to end the first period. After a strong talk by coaches Dave Mullins and James Parisi, the boys would come alive, with two goals coming in the opening minutes, and 40 seconds apart, to tie the game at 2. It would be thanks to a highly offensive shift from the line of Joshua Mason, Israel Buckrop, and Brock Schmidt that would get the boys hyped up and back in the game. Keeping the energy going the boys would use a powerplay to take their first lead of the game going up 3-2 and adding another one in the dying seconds of the 2nd to end the period 4-2. The boys wouldn't stop there however, starting the third period adding another 2 goals to their lead to take a 6-2 lead with powerplay and shorthanded goals. Tides would turn however as the boys found themselves running into 5-on-3 trouble giving up two back to back 5-on-3 powerplay goals making the score 6-4. The boys wouldn't let the Prospects into the game though, as they went out and added another pair of goals to take the win 8-4.

The 2007 squad starts semi final action today as they take on the Atlantic Prospects at 3:45pm
