Jr Chowder Cup RELM Recap - Day 1
Our Jr. Chowder Cup team undertook their first day of action yesterday night when they took on Green Mountain Exposure at 3:40pm
The boys would come out a little slow out of the gate going down 1-0 early in the game but then quickly picked up and applied heavy pressure that would be there throughout the game and would be tied off of the stick of #14 Colby Hercia with 13:58 left to go in the 1st of 2 periods. Still battling hard and having to make a few adjustments as the boys got used to their new teammates they would still bring the battle not letting go of the pressure and would be rewarded with a breakaway goal from #25 Carson Caddick to give the boys a 2-1 lead just shy of 2 minutes later. The game would continue the back and forth battling as Green Mountain picking up off a bad bounce would put one in the net to make the game 2-2 with 8:54 left in the first. The tie game would be brought into intermission and would stay that way until 17:20 left in the second period. The RELM Sports team would go on their first powerplay of the tournament and would cash in a gritty goal by #95 Logan Willis in a loose puck scramble on the goal line.
The boys would hold out the score after a last ditch empty net pressure wave from the Exposure team and a couple attempts at the empty net would not find the mark. But nonetheless the boys would come out on top winning with a final score of 3-2.
The boys are back in action tonight at 5:10 pm in a duel with Northeastern Elite White.
