2012 RELM Recap - Sunshine Cup Day 2
After a day off the 2012 RELM team would be back in action with a double header.
The first of two games for the 2012 squad would take place at 2:30 when they would face the Florida Chupacabra. Looking to continue their winning ways they would start hot and go up 1-0 early. Florida would not go away so easily as they tied the game up later on in the period, however, the 2012's would take the lead back to end the 1st 2-1. Keeping their foot on the pedal, the squad would add another goal to their lead. The Chupacabra would try and make another push and made the score 3-2 but with help of a powerplay goal our tie-dye team would add 2 goals and make the score 5-2. Late in the 3rd period Florida would make one last push scoring 2 goals to bring the score within 1. But it would be too much for them as our RELM team came away with their second win of the tournament and a 5-4 final score.
In the late game our 2012 squad looked stay undefeated in game 3 as they faced the Tampa Bulls at 7:00 pm. Tampa would make the game 1-0 late into the first period and kept the pressure high from there adding a second tally early in the 2nd. The team would play strong against an equally strong Bulls team and just couldn't squeak one by. Late into the 3rd period, and already playing a game earlier, fatigue would start to show as a powerful Tampa team didn't let up the pressure making a late push on the scoreboard and finishing the game with a score of 10-0.
The 2012's look to bounce back and to their winning ways as they take on the Atlantic Prospects at 6:00 pm tonight
